Congrats on your
New Tattoo!

Tattoo aftercare | Aliens Tattoo

We know you're excited to show it off, but it's super important to take care of it so it looks rad for as long as possible. Here's how to do that with Dermalize:

Tattoo Aftercare with Dermalize Pro:

  • Wait 24 hours to apply Dermalize to medium or large tattoos, or do it the same day for small ones. When you get home, clean your tattoo thoroughly with cold water, pat it dry and let it air out.

  • Wear fresh, cotton clothes that cover the tattoo while you sleep to avoid contact with your sheets (very crucial to avoid contact with your bed-sheet while in sleep).

  • Next morning, clean the tattoo with cold clean water thoroughly and let it dry for 5 mins before you apply the dermalize wrap. It is very important to make sure that the skin is dry and sweat free before you apply the wrap.

  • The next morning, clean your tattoo with cold water again and let it dry for 5 minutes before applying the Dermalize wrap. Make sure your skin is dry and sweat-free before you start.

  • Cut the wrap into smaller pieces and round the edges so they don't peel off. Leave about an inch of extra margin around the tattoo to avoid rashes. Use a cotton swab and antiseptic solution like Dettol to clean the area around the wrap.

  • While applying Dermalize on the tattoo, you need to make sure that there are no air bubbles in it. These air bubbles can lead to plasmic fluid accumulation inside the wrap and result into redness and infection.

  • Avoid water and exercise for the next week. On the 7th day, gently remove the wrap and clean your tattoo with cold water and mild soap. Let it dry and apply a thin layer of Aliens Stuff (or any chemical and scent-free moisturiser if you don't have it).

Tattoo Aftercare with Dry Healing Method:

Dry healing might not be as popular as other methods, but it can be super effective if you follow these steps:

  • Wash your tattoo with cold water (sterile or RO water recommended) 3 times a day for 7-10 days. Don't use any moisturizers or creams during this time.

  • Avoid chlorine water, swimming, beaches and direct sunlight. Wear loose, full-sleeved clothes to protect your tattoo from the sun.

  • When you bathe, avoid soap on your tattoo. Wash it separately and pat it dry with a clean towel.

  • Let the scabs fall off on their own. Don't pick at them.

  • No exercise or sweating for the first 2 weeks. After 7 days, you can start applying Aliens Stuff (or any chemical and scent-free moisturizer if you don't have it).

  • What is the best Tattoo Removal option?
There are three methods for Tattoo Removal but from our experience, Laser Treatment yields the best results. It has a better success rate as compared to Dermabrasion and Surgical Removal.
  • Does Laser Tattoo Removal hurt?
The common perception is that the pain is similar to that of getting a tattoo or just a bit more. However, it’s not excruciating.
  • Does it leave a scar?
Usually, it does not leave a scar. However, varied skins have varied effects. Some clients’ skin might be prone to Hypopigmentation (lightning) or Hyperpigmentation (darkening) during the process. These effects are normally temporary but some may see a permanent effect. Generally, patients with a darker skin tone are more prone to facing such effects.
  • How long does the entire process last?
Normally, it takes around 5 5-10 rounds of treatment for the tattoo to be completely removed. It also depends on the darkness of the ink, quality of the ink, colour of the ink as well as age of the tattoo. Lastly, the area of the body the tattoo is placed at also comes into play in deciding how long it’ll take to be removed.
  • What colour of ink can be removed with ease?
Black and Red ink are the easiest to remove from the skin. The toughest ink colour in this case would be light green and light blue. There have been cases where these colours cannot be completely removed.
