We are so used to seeing cricket players showcasing their incredible talent on the field but little about their lives is known behind the scenes. While they’re not busy training or playing matches, what’s going on in their lives? Aliens Tattoo India had the immense pleasure of having Mona Meshram in our studio, where her presence was like a breath of fresh air; she has an incredibly heartwarming smile and we discovered the depth of her character. She also shared some of her personal life experiences and the impact they have had on her. When asked about the tattoo she would like to get inked, she shared a story that tugged at our heartstrings. It’s a story that reminds us of the fragility of life and the resilience of the human spirit.
Mona is a very family-oriented person and was extremely close to her younger brother. Unfortunately, he was fighting an illness that required him to spend his days on a hospital bed. Despite the physical distance, their bond was unbreakable and they stayed connected through phone and video calls. Every single day after her training ended, she would go to the hospital to spend time with him and they’d fall asleep holding hands.
He sadly passed away at the young age of 18. The weight of the loss weighed heavily on Mona’s heart and she wanted to honour his memory by preserving their cherished moments together. Deeply moved by her profound story, we knew we had to make something truly special that will be the perfect tribute to him. Aliens Tattoo design options are endless; so we brainstormed a lot to come up with the perfect design for Mona. With heartfelt creativity, we created a design that symbolises their unbreakable bond – a hand gently grasping another hand along with two cups connected by a string that represent the eternal connection they will always share.
As Mona continues to forge ahead in her cricketing career, she remains focused on her goals. Her success on the cricket field has not only brought her
personal recognition but has also opened doors for other aspiring women cricketers. Mona made her international debut in 2013 in a One Day International (ODI) match against Bangladesh. She has also participated in various ICC Women's World Cup tournaments, including the 2017 edition held in England, where India finished as runners-up. Throughout her career, Mona has played numerous significant innings for the Indian cricket team.
Mona Meshram's remarkable achievements in cricket have not only brought accolades to her name but have also brought pride to our nation and shattered stereotypes.
